Community Information

The City of Perry serves as home to the Tree Capital of the South and celebrates annually with the Florida Forest Festival. The community celebrates this event in October as a way to recognize its local forestry industry and is known for its “World’s Largest Free Fish Fry.” This event is held at the Forest Capital Park on South Byron Butler Parkway. The State Forest Capital Museum is also located at Forest Capital Park with an original “Cracker Homestead.” The annual Bluegrass Festival is also held at the Forest Capital Park.

The City of Perry is a “Main Street” community having been designated such in 1992. Much has been done to restore and preserve the downtown area including historic preservation of several buildings.

The City also has the distinction of being certified as a Tree City USA member since 1991 by the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services.

Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) is a “State of the Art” hospital housing the latest technology available and providing quality health care to Perry and surrounding communities.

The Chamber of Commerce serves as the hub of information to local residents as well as the many visitors to our community.
