Meet the staff
Dr. Erica Lewis Mead is from Baltimore, MD. She was raised in Randallstown, where she completed her primary and secondary education. After graduation, she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her graduate education at the University of Maryland Dental School. During dental school, she participated in a Pediatric dental clerkship and met Dr. William R. Houck through a MD Dental Association mentorship program. Shortly after graduation in 2001, she and her husband moved to Cleveland, OH where she completed a General Practice and Pediatric Dental residency at MetroHealth Medical Center. In 2004, she joined the Pediatric Dental practice of Dr. William R. Houck, DDS as an associate and subsequently purchased the practice in 2008. Dr. Lewis Mead and her husband are proudly raising their two children in Easton, MD.
Dr. William R. Houck is a native of Easton, MD and the son of a General Dentist. He began his education at the Country School and continued his secondary education at Easton High School. Upon graduation in 1960, he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the College of William and Mary and the University of Maryland Dental School respectively. He furthered his postgraduate education with US Army Dental Corp., where he discovered a desire to work with children. Dr. Houck furthered his education with a Pediatric Dental Residency at University of Rochester, NY. Following his residency, Dr. Houck and his family moved back to Easton and opened the first Pediatric Dental office on the Maryland Eastern shore on July 1, 1971. After working as a solo practitioner for over 30 years, he warmly welcomed Dr. Lewis Mead into the practice. Since transitioning the practice, Dr. Houck enthusiastically continues to provide care for patients. He still resides in Easton with his wife. In addition, he is the proud father of two daughters (one of which is a practicing General Dentist) and six grandchildren.
We are very proud of our wonderful support team. Our business office staff, chairside dental assistants, and dental hygienists are exceptional people who are dedicated to our success. They all try very hard to make each patient and family feel special and to create a joyful positive atmosphere. We cherish the long-term relationships that we have developed with many patients and families. (Three of our staff members have been with the practice for more than 30 years.) It is very flattering when former patients bring their own children to our office. Each of our team members is appropriately trained and licensed for their duties. The attitude, dedication, and competence of our support team is extraordinary.
