ENROLLMENT

Seeds to Seedlings is open to all children, regardless of race, nationality, or creed, who may benefit from our type of program. We have a mixed age child care, caring for children from 6 weeks through 12 years. We offer preschool and child care services for children between the ages of 33 months through 5 years old. The school age program provides services between kindergarten and 12 years of age. A child becomes eligible for the school age program 4 months prior to kindergarten eligibility.

Positions in child care are considered "open" unless a non-refundable deposit is paid. This will hold your child's slot for a period of 2 weeks after the scheduled start date. An exception will be made for newborn care. We will hold the opening for 6 weeks after the birth of the child. The deposit is equivalent to 1 week of child care. If child care begins as stated in the contract, the deposit will be applied towards the third week of child care. If child care does not begin on the contracted start date, the deposit will be forfeited and become the property of Seeds to Seedlings, LLC. Availability for part time enrollments is limited and care can be terminated by Seeds to Seedlings if the position can be filled by full time care.

We are required to keep certain information on file in the interest and protection of the children in our care. Please complete all of the information in the Welcome and Registration packet. All necessary paperwork must be completed and returned prior to your child's first day. In addition to Enrollment and Emergency Contact forms, all children will be required to have on record proof of a recent physical and an up-to-date Immunization Record. These are required by the State of Minnesota and prompt cooperation is expected and appreciated.

CURRICULUM

Young children learn best by doing. Learning is more than just repeating what someone else says or does. Learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. At Seeds to Seedlings, we hope to provide you with a child care program focusing on guidance and enrichment for children. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We allow children to learn at their own pace. We hope to instill good habits and attitudes, in particular a positive sense of themselves, which will make a difference throughout their lives.

Lesson plans are developed to include the following:
Large and Small Group activities
Family Style Meals
Outside and Large Motor activities
Child Initialed Choices
Developmentally appropriate computer experiences

DAILY SCHEDULE

Young children enjoy a structured schedule that allows for flexibility. A schedule helps the day flow more smoothly, allows children to anticipate upcoming events, and aids in achieving a variety of goals. We will adhere to our written schedule to the best of our ability, keeping in mind that anything can happen when children are involved. There will be times when adjustments to the schedule will need to be made. Our schedule will provide consistency in a balanced program of child initiated and adult-directed activities, including individual and small group activities, routines and transitions.
