Upper endoscopic procedures

Upper endoscopy, also known as an EGD, enables Dr. Reissman to examine the lining of the stomach, esophagus or upper intestine using a flexible tube with its own micro video camera and light source. It is used to evaluate symptoms such as upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing or unexplained weight loss.

Colonoscopic procedures

Colonoscopy is primarily used to examine the lining of the patient’s large intestines and rectum. During the procedure, Dr. Reissman can diagnose ailments such as intestinal inflammation, diverticulosis, ulceration and bleeding, colitis, polyps and cancer. As with upper endoscopy, tumors, polyps and other lesions can often be removed during the procedure, before they become cancerous.

Do not fear endoscopic procedures

Dr. Reissman fully understands that fear might prevent you from having an endoscopic procedure performed. That is why we will go out of our way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You will relax in a state-of-the-art facility under intravenous sedation and find that your endoscopic treatment will be fast, effective and comfortable.
