FAQ’s FOR CLIENTS
1.Does Medicare/Medicaid pay for these services?
No, Angelo Healthcare Services (AHCS) is a private pay agency.
2.Does AHCS accept insurance cases such as worker’s compensation or long-term care insurance? Yes, AHCS does accept these cases.
3.Does AHCS file insurance claims?
No, AHCS does not file insurance claims, but will provide the client/family with the copies of the billing statements or whatever else is required by the insurance company.
4.How do I set up services with AHCS?
Just call and speak with our friendly in-office staff who will guide you through the process. On weekends or afterhours, our phones are answered by an answering service, which will put you in contact with our night/weekend coordinator who will assist you. An assessment visit will be scheduled to assess the client and the type of service required.
5.What services does AHCS offer?
AHCS has private duty nurse aides and companions. We also offer home health aide visits and skilled nursing visits. The nurse aides and companions can assist with person care, laundry, transportation to appointments, grocery shopping and light housekeeping.
6.Are employees of AHCS supervised?
Yes, all employees are supervised by a RN/LVN 24 hours/day.
7.What is Respite Care?
Respite Care is a service offered to those family members who are fulltime caregivers, to an elderly parent, spouse, family member, etc., but who need some time for themselves to run errands, go to appointments, go to a movie, or go on vacation. AHCS will provide care to cover that loved one while the caregiver is away.
8.Do I need to have AHCS cover 24 hours/day?
No, AHCS will provide services from 4 hours per day to 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. AHCS sets up services to suit the needs of the client or family.
9.How do I know that the employees can be trusted with my loved one?
All employees of AHCS are screened, bonded and insured. Each one receives an orientation.
10.Do I need to pay taxes on the employee?
No, AHCS takes care of all taxes and insurances.
FOR POTENTIAL EMPLOYEES:
1.What do I have to do to work for AHCS?
Come in and fill out an application. You will need complete addresses and phone numbers of your current or previous employers. Also, be sure to have complete addresses and phone numbers of 3 personal references (not family related). Be sure to have your driver’s license and Social Security care with you at the time.
2.Will I be working immediately?
In most cases, no. AHCS checks out references on everyone. Also, criminal history background checks are done and the employee misconduct registry is checked if you are eligible to be hired.
3.Will I get 40 hours a week?
AHCS cannot guarantee 40 hours per week. We are considered a part-time agency. The more flexible you are on what hours and days you can work the more work you would get if you are hired.
4.How often do I get a paycheck?
AHCS pays on a weekly basis.
5.Does AHCS have employee insurance?
Not at this time. After working 90 days, AFLAC insurance (a supplemental insurance) would be available for you to purchase.
6.Does AHCS take a fee or anything out of my paycheck?
AHCS does not take a fee out of your paycheck – only withholding taxes.
7.Do I need to wear a uniform?
AHCS does require that you wear scrubs which can be any color.
